The dream of a Vineyard started in 2004
The MoBo team is made up of partners John Morgan and Melissa Botello.
Melissa grew up in Northern California and spent as much time in Napa Valley as possible. In 2004, she relocated to Green Valley, a small town just outside of Napa on Highway 12. She just wrapped up 10 years at a medical device company and was ready for a break from the corporate grind. She landed a job at New Vine Logistics in Napa Valley. She was an Account Manager responsible for helping small wineries ship wine to states outside of California. Her "office time" was meeting wine makers and vineyard owners. She fell in love with the winemaking process and the vineyard lifestyle. So much so, she dug up a small patch of grass in her backyard (with the help of her son) and planted grapes. It was then she dreamed, one day to own a small vineyard and make wine.
John Morgan has spent the last 30 years exploring wine country around the world and extensively in California, from Napa Valley to Highland Valley! After many visits to Northern California, the Central Coast, Santa Barbara, Solvang, Temecula, and the hills of Escondido, he started and has now put together an impressive wine collection. He enjoys chronicling the wine collection and of course the occasional sampling. Always willing to lend a helping hand, ask him about the time he helped a winemaker friend of his at bottling time, and proceeded to record the only industrial accident they ever had! He still has a small scar on his finger to prove it.
Melissa and John came together in 2014 and are life and business partners. They share a passion for family, food and wine. This quote from Robert Mondavi, "Wine to me is passion. It's family and friends. It's warmth of the heart and generosity of spirit" resonates with Melissa and John as they feel the same way.
In 2020, John and Melissa bought the Temecula vineyard estate; blending Morgan and Botello into the MoBo Group. Dreams do come true with hard work, perseverance and determination.
